New Balance 760
Spotlight on Product: The 760 Runs to Retail
If there is anything runners can agree on, whether they are training for
their tenth marathon or their first 5k, it is that they want shoes that are comfortable, durable and dependable. Enter the NB 760, now at retail. The 760 is the latest NB shoe for the consumers looking for stability in their footwear.
“We call the 760 our ‘go-to stability’ shoe,” said Claire Wood, product manager, NBx. “It is built to include everything the dedicated runner needs in their stability shoe, from technology to aesthetics.”That includes updates from the 760s predecessor, the 769. The new version has an increased focus on the mid-foot wrap, with more emphasis on holding the foot in place. The shape of the vamp, where the toes are located, is slightly more open which allows a better fit. The 760’s design was built
to look fast, begging runners to tie it up and race forward, even while sitting on the shoe shelf at retail.
“When runners walk into the store, they want to know that their favorite
model will still work for them,” Wood said. “There is enough DNA in the
760 that harkens back to its predecessor while incorporating appropriate
updates to improve the shoe and garner runners that are new to our brand.”
Those runners include people of all ages, some who are training for their
first race, and other road warriors with closets full of race day
tee-shirts.
“Stability runners make up 60 percent of the running population,” Wood
said. “The 760 speaks directly to these consumers, who are looking for running shoes in which they can log a lot of miles, limit their injuries and truly enjoy their running experience.”
As 2010 continues, Wood and the running SBU expect the 760 to build a strong following, with new runners enjoying the experience so much that they will become NB loyalists.
“The bar is raised high here,” Wood said. “We want the 760 to become the
number one go-to shoe in specialty. When we win the dedicated runner who
has that fantastic running experience with the NB brand, then we’ve
reached our goal.”
The 760 offers stability to the dedicated runner.
Athlete Testimonial-
"The 760 is a fantastic lightweight trainer that is perfect for those longer threshold runs where racing flats are too light with not enough support and lighter than a trainer that is too heavy for this type of workout. The acteva lite material is very comfortable and the seamless liners also prevent irritations that occur when running 30mins threshold runs. Perfect for the 10km distances upwards."
