Mondo Duplantis, the Swedish pole vaulting sensation, is redefining greatness. After a record-shattering 2024 season, where he clinched Olympic gold and broke his own world record three times, Duplantis is back in training, hungry for more success. Despite a dream year, the 24-year-old athlete is laser-focused on maintaining his dominance in 2025.

“Last year was everything I dreamed of,” Duplantis reflects. “But starting training again, I realized I’m not in the same shape, and that drives me to get better.”

This relentless drive was on full display at the Paris Olympics. On August 5, under the spotlight of a packed Stade de France, Duplantis turned childhood visions into reality by clearing 6.25m on his final attempt. The electric crowd stayed until the night’s end, witnessing a moment etched into sporting history.

The Perfect Moment

Duplantis has long envisioned these moments. As a child, he imagined himself soaring to record-breaking heights in the Olympics. That night, it all came together. “I felt this surreal sense of déjà vu,” he recalls. “The crowd, the energy—it felt like I’d lived that moment before.”

His approach to pole vaulting is as meticulous as it is passionate. Every detail, from pole selection to wind calculations, matters. Yet, when the stakes are highest, Duplantis finds peace in simplicity. “The key to success is letting it flow,” he says. “You can’t tense up when chasing perfection.”

His Olympic feat wasn’t just a triumph for himself but a gift to the fans. “They stayed because they wanted to see history,” Duplantis says. “I’m grateful to have delivered that moment.”

Hungry for More

As Duplantis transitions to the 2025 season, his ambitions are as lofty as the heights he clears. With a world title defense in Tokyo on the horizon, he’s determined to push boundaries. “It’s incredible how fast time flies,” he reflects. “I want to make the most of every moment and keep creating magic.”

Beyond the pole vault, Duplantis has embraced new challenges, such as a sprint showdown against Karsten Warholm, showcasing his incredible versatility. Off the track, he marked a personal milestone by proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Desiré Inglander.

Looking ahead, Duplantis aims to elevate the pole vault’s global appeal. “It’s more than a sport—it’s an art,” he says. “I want to inspire others to see its beauty and excitement.”

With his passion and hunger intact, Mondo Duplantis is poised to continue soaring to unimaginable heights, proving there’s always more to achieve when chasing greatness.
