Matt Denny represented Australia in the discus at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, he won the gold medal at the 2019 Summer Universiade and two medals at the 2013 World Youth Championships. In the hammer he won the silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
