A 15-year-old from Western Australia has already produced performances that have gained worldwide attention. Sasha Zhoya is a multi-talented athlete, who not only can vault over 5 metres, but recently ran 13.24s (+1.2) for the 110m hurdles to break the Australian U/18 record (previously held by another very talented sprint hurdler in Sam Baines). Made more impressive as Zhoya will have two more years to lower his own record.
Add to this personal best times of 10.61s and 21.09s for the 100m and 200m respectively and you can start to see why he took out the award for the best junior sports star in WA for 2017. Simply put, Zhoya is well on his way to becoming a world class athlete at whatever event(s) he chooses to pursue.
