Impressive Qualification Standards

This year’s selection process stands out due to the extraordinary pace demanded of applicants. To secure their coveted invitations, runners had to achieve times that surpassed the established qualifying standards for their respective age categories by an impressive five minutes and 29 seconds. This rigorous qualification criterion has left more than 11,000 individuals, who had met the qualifying standards within their age groups, disappointed as they were unable to earn a spot in this prestigious event.

For instance, male and female runners aged 18-34 had to achieve remarkable times of 2 hours, 54 minutes, and 31 seconds, and 3 hours, 24 minutes, and 31 seconds, respectively, to gain entry into the marathon.

A noteworthy aspect of this year’s participant list is the inclusion of all runners who held valid times in the 2022 and 2023 editions. This underscores the event’s commitment to recognizing consistent performance and dedication.

Running with Purpose

While 22,019 runners have successfully secured their positions through conventional qualification, approximately 8,000 individuals will be participating in the race for charitable causes. This charitable dimension is expected to boost the total number of participants to an impressive 30,000, solidifying the event’s reputation as one of the largest and most prestigious marathons on the global stage.
