Henry Rono, legend of Kenyan distance running, has passed away aged 72. Rono was famous for setting four world records in four different events in the span of 81 days in 1978, during his time as a student athlete with Washington State University, but unfortunately never competed at the Olympics due to Kenya’s boycott of the 1976 and 1980 games.

Aynadis Mebratu redeemed her third place performance at Maurie Plant with a win at the Run The Bridge 10K in Hobart, Tasmania ahead of Leanne Pompeani and Sarah Klein.
