Benard Kibet Koech, the Kenyan distance runner who holds the world best time for 10 miles (44:04), has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for a doping violation related to irregularities in his athlete biological passport. Koech, who placed fifth in the 10,000m at the 2023 World Championships and has a half-marathon personal best of 58:45, is the fourth Kenyan athlete to face suspension by the AIU in 2025.
