Runner’s Tribe – Australia’s David Criniti and Fiona Yates have won the men’s and women’s races at the 2018 ASB Auckland Marathon. Yates set a personal best of 2:48:41 in just the third marathon for the Sydneysider. Second was another Aussie, Margaret Campbell. On the men’s side David Criniti continued his string of amazingly rock solid results breaking away from another Aussie, Isaias Beyn, in the final 5km to take the win. Brian Lyouns’ twitter post says it all…

The race was partly marred by a number of runners collapsing during the race. Race organiser say they can “confirm at this point that during the Auckland Marathon today, six participants have been transported to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical treatment. We have no further details at this time on the six (unrelated) incidents and will continue to offer the athletes our support.”
