Australia’s, Jordan Williamsz has successfully defended his Great North CityGames mile title after out-kicking Moroccan and 2012 Olympic 1500m bronze medalist Abdelaati Iguider in 4:11 with Paul Robinson and Robbie Fitzgibbon finishing 2nd and 3rd.
The Nic Bideau coached, Melbourne Track Club athlete, Williamsz will also be doing the Great North Run as his Sunday long run.
“On Sunday I’m actually going to do the half-marathon as well – although I’m just going to be jogging around.”

Britain’s Laura Muir won on the women’s side, topping off a stellar season with 4:33 ahead of European 10,000m silver medallist Susan Krumins of Netherlands and Britain’s Jess Judd with 4:35.
