In a thrilling men’s 20km race, Qian Haifeng emerged as the breakout star, seizing victory in a time of 1 hour, 19 minutes, and 5 seconds. His remarkable win marked a significant milestone in his career, demonstrating his growing prowess in the sport. Notably, Qian’s triumph denied defending champion Caio Bonfim a consecutive victory in the Polish capital, showcasing the rising talent within the Chinese race-walking contingent.

Meanwhile, in the women’s race, Liu Hong once again proved her dominance with yet another remarkable victory. Clocking in at 1 hour, 27 minutes, and 33 seconds, Liu showcased her unparalleled skill and determination, further solidifying her status as one of the sport’s most formidable athletes. Despite facing fierce competition, including Australia’s Jemima Montag and Poland’s Katarzyna Zdzieblo, Liu maintained her composure and surged ahead to claim the top spot on the podium.
