Ethiopian middle distance runner, Chala Beyo has been banned from competition for 2-years after punching his coach upon learning he did not make the team for the 2017 IAAF World Championship in London early next month.
The 21-year-old, Beyo, ran for Ethiopia in the 3,000 meters steeplechase at last year’s Rio Olympics and was run out in the heats.
Beyo’s coach, Yohannes Mohammed needed medical treatment on his left eye after the assault. Last reports have police still searching for the lean assailant.
