Teenage sprint sensation Gout Gout delivered the fastest run of his career on Sunday, scorching the 200m in 19.84 seconds at the Australian Championships — albeit with a wind reading of +2.2 m/s, just over the legal limit.

With his rival Lachie Kennedy disqualified for a false start, all eyes were on Gout — and the Ipswich phenom didn’t disappoint. He unleashed one of the fastest ever 200m performances by an under-20 athlete in any conditions.

“I just sent it down the home straight,” Gout said post-race — and send it he did. The future of Aussie sprinting looks electric.
