Continuing at the World Athletic Championships where Jessica Hull placed 7th in 4:01.82 and Georgia Griffith 9th in 4:03.26. Olympic Champion Faith Kipyegon regained her 1500m world title ahead of Gudaf Tsegay of Ethiopia and Laura Muir of Great Britain.

Faith Kipyegon Regains World 1500m Title in Fast Final

Stewart McSweyn ran a seasonal best of 3:33.24, as Jake Wightman of Great Britain upset the favourite and Olympic Champion Jakob Ingebrigsten.

In the Women’s 5000m, Nat Rule was unable to finish her heat, while Rose Davies finished 15th overall with a time of 15:45.95, Jess Hull withdrew testing positive for covid following the 1500m final. The Final was won by Gudaf Tsegay, adding gold after her silver in the 1500m.

The Men’s 5000m saw Ky Robinson post 13:27.03 in his heat, just shy of his personal best while Matt Ramsden ran 13:52.90 in his. Jack Rayner withdrew to prioritise Commonwealth Games. Jakob Ingebrigsten won the final in redemption for the 1500m, just ahead of Jacob Krop of Kenya and Oscar Chelimo of Uganda.

Peter Bol progressed through to the Men’s 800m final to place 7th overall. Joseph Deng withdrew from the heats citing achilles problems.

Catriona Bissett finished with 2:05.20 in the Women’s 800m semi final after a bruising encounter in the heats, with debuts made by Tess Kirsop-Cole and Claudia Hollingsworth.
Sarah Klein moved through the field to place 14th in the Women’s Marathon in a personal best time of 2:30:10.

Bol bows out, Buschkuehl leaps into final – Runner’s Tribe (runnerstribe.com)

Sydney Harbour 10k won by Brett Robinson in 28:42 ahead of Matt Clarke and Ed Goddard. The women’s race was won by Chloe Tighe 32:24 ahead of Leanne Pompeani and Aynslee Van Graan.
