Former 10000m World Record holder Almaz Ayana of Ethiopia won the Amsterdam Marathon in 2:17:20 for a marathon debut World Record, while 1500m World Record holder Genzebe Dibaba of Ethiopia came second in 2:18:05. Tsegaye Getachew of Ethiopia won the race in 2:04:49, while Kieren Perkins from Queensland set a personal best of 2:17:54.
