Joseph Deng reclaims the 800m National Record, running 1:43.99 in Lyon France, with Jye Perrott 1:45.96 for fifth place. At the 1500m event Cameron Myers ran 3:35.01 for another set of records, while Peter Bol set a personal best of 3:34.52. Other Australians included Callum Davies 3:37.86 and Rorey Hunter 3:40.21 also in the same 1500m, Georgia Winkcup’s performance of 9:48.05 in the Steeplechase and Jack Bruce running 14:16.06 in the 5000m.

Jess Hull ran an Olympic Qualifier in the Stockholm Diamond League 5000m, with a 14:44.24 just off her National Record, while in the 1500m Georgia Griffith ran 4:09.01 and Linden Hall 4:09.39. Joseph Deng posted a 1:47.84 as a taster for Lyon while Jack Rayner ran the 3000m in 7:54.79

Athletics Victoria XCR at Sandown Racecourse saw Glenhuntly win the 6.2km Road Relays over Bendigo and Box Hill in Men’s Premier Division, thanks in part to Ed Marks’ fastest time of the day in 17:45. Box Hill won the Women’s Premier, followed by Glenhuntly and St Stephens Harriers, with Stella Radford of Box Hill the fastest lap of the day with 20:34.

Athletics NSW held the 7.5km Short Course Cross Country Championships in Wollongong with victory taken out by Holly Campbell over Aynslee Van Graan, while Luke Hince won the men’s race over Drew Fryer.
