FLASH: JEBET SMASHES 3000M STEEPLECHASE WORLD RECORD IN PARIS
Ruth Jebet of Bahrain shattered the world record in the 3000m steeplechase, clocking 8:52.78*, at the Meeting de Paris on Saturday (27), the 12th stop of the IAAF Diamond League series.
Jebet, who won the Olympic title in the event in Rio de Janeiro 12 days ago, knocked more than six seconds from the previous record of 8:58.81 set by Gulnara Galkina of Russia at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
