Mike Norman has run the fastest 100m of 2020 so far in Fort Worth, Texas on Monday (20th July). He stopped the clock at 9.86 seconds.

Known as a 400m runner, the fast 100m makes Norman one of the most versatile sprinters in the world right now.

The time also takes Normal to equal 8th on the American all-time 100m list, tied with Carl Lewis and Noah Lyles.

In his first race of the year, Norman was pumped with the time, posting to social media. The run was legal too, with a wind reading of 1.6m/s. He beat his training partner, world 400m hurdles silver medallist Rai Benjamin.

The time sees him join Wayde van Niekerk in an exclusive club, as he has now gone under 10 seconds for 100m, 20 seconds for 200m and 44 seconds for 400m.
