Elite 1500m Field Set for Silesia Diamond League
The men’s 1500m at the upcoming Silesia Diamond League will feature one of the deepest fields of the 2025 season, with multiple sub-3:30 performers and two Australians in contention, including 18-year-old prodigy Cameron Myers.
Myers, who holds a personal best of 3:29.80 and sits 12th in the world rankings, will face countryman Oliver Hoare (PB 3:29.41, WR#28) in a race stacked with global talent.
Kenya is heavily represented, led by Reynold Cheruiyot (SB 3:30.94, PB 3:30.30, WR#9), Timothy Cheruiyot (SB 3:29.75, PB 3:28.28, WR#7), Abel Kipsang (SB 3:29.46, PB 3:29.11), and Festus Lagat (SB/PB 3:29.03, WR#25).
The US contingent is equally strong. Yared Nuguse, the second-ranked runner in the world (SB 3:30.37, PB 3:27.80), is joined by Josh Hoey (SB/PB 3:29.75) and Hobbs Kessler (SB 3:31.12, PB 3:29.45, WR#6).
Other major contenders include Morocco’s Soufiane El Bakkali (SB 3:31.95), Norway’s Narve Gilje Nordås (SB 3:30.73, PB 3:29.47, WR#11), the Netherlands’ Stefan Nillessen (SB/PB 3:29.23, WR#13), and Britain’s Neil Gourley (SB 3:33.69, PB 3:30.60, WR#18).
Poland will be represented by Filip Rak (SB/PB 3:32.53, WR#46), Filip Ostrowski (SB 3:38.38, PB 3:35.73), Maciej Wyderka (SB 3:35.81, PB 3:35.09, WR#96), and Patryk Sieradzki (SB 3:58.04). Slovenia’s Žan Rudolf (SB/PB 3:39.37) rounds out the field.
With six athletes holding personal bests under 3:29.50 and several others close to that mark, the Silesia 1500m is poised to be one of the most competitive races of the Diamond League season.
