Perth based 16-year-old Sasha Zhoya has jumped 5.56m in the Men’s Pole Vault, which is an U18 world best at Day 1 of the Australian Track & Field Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre.

The record of 5.55m, which was previously held by Greek athlete Emmanouilt Karalis set in 2016, was easily cleared by Zhoya who went on to win the U20 Men’s Pole Vault.
