Saint-Denis, known for housing the Olympic stadium and aquatics center, will serve as the final stage of the torch relay before the flame arrives at the Eiffel Tower, signifying the commencement of the Games. Snoop Dogg, who recently arrived in Paris, expressed his enthusiasm on social media with a photo of himself in the city, captioned: “U ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digggg!”

Beyond his role as torchbearer, Snoop Dogg will contribute to NBC and Peacock’s prime-time broadcasts, offering insights and exploring Paris’s landmarks and history. His participation is expected to add a distinctive touch to the U.S. coverage of the event.

This summer, Snoop Dogg has been actively involved in track and field, including a notable appearance at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. There, he provided commentary for events such as the 3,000m steeplechase and the 100m dash, and completed a 200m race in an impressive 34.44 seconds.

Alongside Snoop Dogg, French rapper MC Solaar and Ukrainian pole vault champion Sergey Bubka will also carry the torch through Saint-Denis. The Olympic torch relay is a cherished tradition, with the Paris flame having been ignited in Olympia, Greece earlier this year and making its way across France over the past two months.

The opening ceremony, scheduled to take place along the River Seine, will feature approximately 10,000 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees and the IOC Refugee Olympic Team. The Canadian Olympic Committee is set to announce Canada’s flag bearer on Wednesday morning.
