After being postponed three times due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the World Indoor Athletics Championships will finally take place in Nanjing, China, from March 21-23, featuring 576 athletes from 127 countries. Among the star-studded lineup is pole vault world record holder Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, who recently extended his own record to 6.27m. Other top names include Jakob Ingebrigtsen (1500m, 3000m), Grant Holloway (60m hurdles), and Yaroslava Mahuchikh (high jump), alongside multiple Olympic and world champions.

Duplantis expressed excitement about returning to China after a successful Diamond League season, while Mahuchikh and Ingebrigtsen are aiming to build on their recent European Indoor Championship victories. The U.S. team will be without 100m Olympic champion Noah Lyles, with Marcellus Moore, Emmanuel Wells, and Ronnie Baker leading the sprint entries. Grant Holloway, meanwhile, looks to make history by becoming the first hurdler to win three consecutive world indoor titles. The competition promises to deliver high-level performances across 26 events.
