Leanne Pompeani chasing history at Nagoya marathon alongside Izzi Batt-Doyle

The rising superstar has got a blistering record in her sights as she attempts a career-first.

Australian long distance running star Leanne Pompeani won almost everything in 2024, but she’s about to tackle a different beast altogether.

Next month the 28-year-old Asics superstar will make her marathon debut in Nagoya, and she’s got a coveted Aussie record in her sights.

Fresh off wins at City2Surf, Burnie 10, and half marathons at the Melbourne and Gold Coast marathon festivals last year, Pompeani is aiming to run the fastest debut marathon by an Australian woman in history when she hits the Japanese start line on March 9.
