Australia's leading middle distance runner Stewart McSweyn has posted another impressive run at the London Diamond League clocking  13:05.48 for 4th. Fellow Aussie Patrick Tiernan finished in 8th with 13:12.68 and 4-time NCAA champion Morgan McDonald finished in 9th with 13:18.91. Both Tiernan and McDonald posted A qualifying times for the Doha World Championships in a few months time.   Australia had three other starters in the race; Brett Robinson finished 13th in 13:39, Sam McEntee 16th in 13:55 and the Australian champion, Jordan Gusman, DNF'd.
Under Armour (UA) has continued it's assault on Nike, signing Australian superstar Morgan McDonald. A domain long dominated by Nike, UA are showing they mean business having already signed Luke Mathews, the 2019 Australian 1500m champion.

Former Commonwealth games 10,000 meter champion Joyce Chepkirui has been  suspended for four years for doping, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced Tuesday. Chepkirui has been suspended over the use of prohibited substances and discrepancies in her her Athletes Biological Passport (ABP).
The decision has been made to publish Australian Athlete magazine once a year, in time for Christmas.
