Pierre-Ambroise Bosse, the celebrated 800m world champion of 2017, has been conspicuously absent from the competitive arena since the culmination of the 2022 season. His hiatus from the sport has been extended by a disciplinary measure enacted by the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) in April, resulting in a one-year suspension. This penalty was imposed due to Bosse's failure to adhere to the whereabouts obligations mandated by the agency between September 2022 and June 2023.

Jessica Hull, the former Oregon Duck, former NCAA 1500 champ, and current Australian 5000m title holder, has broken the 18-year-old Australian 5000m record clocking 14:43.80, at the Monaco Diamond League.
Jessica Hull has unofficially broken the Australian Indoor 1500m record at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, running 4:04.14 to take out the race. Meanwhile, in New York, the 2019 Australian 5000m champion, Jordan Gusman, has qualified for the world indoor titles.  Gusman, from the elite squad, Tinman Elite, clocked 7:49 at the Dr Sanders Invitational in New York City, just inside the world championship qualifier (7:50). 
In an impressive show of speed and determination, Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda is poised to etch her name on the global stage at the upcoming World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow next month. Currently holding the second spot worldwide for the 60m event, Swoboda is on track to secure her inaugural senior global medal at the Scottish venue from March 1-3.

One of Australia's most exciting middle distance runners, Abbey Caldwell, has become the latest member of the sub-2-minute club, clocking 1:59.31 at the Monaco Diamond League women's 800m. In a fast race (won in 1:56.98), Caldwell hung back before unleashing her trademark kick, passing Linden Hall to finish 5th.

At the Dutch Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn, Femke Bol once again made history with an incredible display of technique and perseverance. Bol improved the world indoor 400-meter record to an amazing 49.24 while retaining her national title at the same stadium where she ran her historic 49.26 a year earlier. With this incredible accomplishment, she broke the 50-second mark for the sixth time indoors, solidifying Bol's record with six of the top 12 fastest 400-meter times ever recorded. Bol, expressing her happiness, is now trying to win her maiden indoor global championship in Glasgow, Scotland, at the global Athletics Indoor Championships.
