Australian men’s 1500m running is hot right now. And in amongst it, is Olli Hoare. Hailing from Caringbah, in Sydney, Olli moved to America post high school, and raced for Wisconsin. He forged  an awesome collegiate career, including an outdoor 1500m NCAA title.

2020 marked Olli’s first year as a pro athlete, and he did not mess around. But 2021 has been the year that Olli emerged as a true threat in global 1500m running. So far as of May 11, 2021, Olli has clocked three Olympic standards over 1500m, wining all three of those races in dominate fashion.  First there was a 3:32 indoor 1500m in New York in February, where Olli set a new Australian indoor 1500m record and clocked the 7th fastest indoor time in history.  He showed it was no fluke a few months later when he clocked a 3:33 to dominate in Oregon. Then he stepped up at Mt Sac, and dominated again, clocking another 3:33. With the Tokyo Olympics approaching, we caught up with Olli and dived deep into pretty much anything we could think of…
