Big Month of Track and Field
Another month has past and we were again treated to some magical moments from our top Australian track and field stars.
First we had some fantastic performances from our junior athletes at the Australian All Schools Championships, which included an Australian Youth record in the boys javelin throw by Connor Warren (77.80m). We also saw some great runs from Jack Hale (100m) and Keely Small (1500m) on the track, while in the field it was long jump star Darcy Roper, Ned Weatherly (hammer throw) and Warren who stole the show.
At the Zatopek meeting it was all about the wonderful Olympic 10000m qualifiers from Eloise Wellings and David McNeill, while in the U/20 men’s 3000m event Matthew Ramsden ran a very fast 8.09.07 to take the win.
Then it was the turn of Angus Armstrong (NSW Open and U/20 record), Hale (Australian Youth 100m record) and Weatherly (Australian Youth Hammer Throw record) to rewrite the record books.
Finally we had some superb sub 4 minute mile performances from Jordan Gusman (our November AOM) in Sydney and Ryan Gregson and Zac Patterson in Geelong. What more could you have asked for in such a great month for top performances.
So who has been added to the list for the December, 2015 AOM? Well go and see (and more importantly vote) at our dedicated AOM page or by simply voting at the bottom of this page. Voting will close in just under 3 weeks time.
