The announcement of Nassau County's policy prohibiting transgender athletes from competing in women's sports at county-owned facilities has recently generated a lot of controversy and differing views from a range of sources, including Olympic champion Caitlyn Jenner.

As Paris braces for the inevitable summer heat, especially notorious for its sparse air conditioning, preparations are in full swing to ensure the comfort of the thousands of athletes expected to descend upon the city for the Olympics in late July and August. The curtain fell on the athletics events at the African Games in Accra, Ghana, with a spectacular display of athleticism and determination on Friday (22), as athletes delivered remarkable performances to conclude the competition.

Each have won a world championship over the distance with Coleman the reigning Diamond League champion thanks to his victory over Noah Lyles in Eugene.

Sydney, Australia; 23 March 2024 - Mixing tradition with the new wave of Australian athletics talent, the 2024 Chemist Warehouse Sydney Track Classic at E.S Marks Athletics Field witnessed Australian 3000m champions Cameron Myers and Jessica Hull crowned, and a pair of relay records tumble thanks to the nation’s fastest women.

Almost 1000 runners took to the trails of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, competing in six races at the kunanyi Mountain  Run across the weekend, which ranged in distance from a Vertical Kilometre (1000 metres elevation over 5km) to a  grueling Ultra Marathon 66km. 

Local Hobart mum and top trail runner, Maggie Lennox, showed some of Australia’s elite trail runners just how  it’s done, with a stunning performance in the 25km event of this weekend’s kunanyi Mountain Run. 

Held just outside of Wartburg, Tennessee, the 2024 Barkley Marathons concluded with an amazing feat: five competitors finished the challenging course. notably, British Jasmin Paris has created history by becoming the first female competitor to complete this difficult race, clocking in at an astounding 59 hours, 58 minutes, and 21 seconds.

The women’s race had barely sunk in – a sub-30 from Ethiopia’s world cross-country silver medallist Tsigie Gebreselama, 30:35.66 from Lauren Ryan in third place, breaking Benita Willis’s Australian record set way back in the 2003 world championships – when eight men came in under 27 minutes in the men’s with another five, including Jack Rayner in another AR 27:09.57, between 27:07 and 27:10.
