A column by Michael Beisty An Introductory Dialogue I am 63 years of age, still running and racing, and retired from employment.   I enjoy writing and running. Combined, they bring together an ideal mix of two creative processes, the mental and the physical. I’m no Kenny Moore but I think I have...
Dejen Gebreselassie RT Journal: Working to hit goals in 2016: An Athlete's Life 2016 has been such a blessing for me, yet it has also been one of the busiest and toughest years of my life. It’s getting to that time of year when many people out there are thinking whether or not to go to train at altitude ahead of the summer track season. Well here’s my two cents worth – if you can’t decide. First thing I’d do is set out your goals for...
Perseverance - persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success (Oxford Languages Definition). Perseverance is a great character strength to develop as an athlete. After the disappointment of missing the majority of the 2012 season and therefore the chance to push for selection in the London Olympics team it was pure relief and happiness when I crossed the line at the Australian National Championships in Sydney and secured my selection for the 2013...
On my recent trip to Europe, I was lucky enough to visit a few countries as well as have my first international experience with racing. There are truly no words to express how beautiful Europe is and WOah let’s not forget the amazing scenery that has you spending hours...
