After a prolonged wait, World Athletics won’t be banning Nike's controversial carbon-infused Vaporfly Next% road racing shoes.  Instead, the governing body will look to temporarily tighten regulations regarding footwear in the lead up to Tokyo 2020.
March’s World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China have been postponed to 2021, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the host nation. World Athletics made the announcement about the biennial championships on Wednesday, citing safety concerns.

Coming off the second fastest marathon of all time during the BMW Berlin Marathon this fall, Kenenisa Bekele has set a new goal for himself and will join the world’s fastest men in the streets of London. Kenenisa will join teammates Eliud Kipchoge and Mule Wasihun, who finished 3rd during last year’s race.
The World Athletics working group investigating the Nike road racing shoes which have revolutionised marathon and road racing times, is still deliberating over what limits to place on the carbon plate and foam technology and is unlikely to implement a complete widespread ban.
