Jodie Williams has officially retired, reflecting on a career that transformed her from a shy young girl into a confident and accomplished athlete.

Known for her speed in the 200m, Williams became the sixth-fastest British woman at that distance, clocking 22.46 seconds to win silver at the European Championships in 2014.

Later, she excelled in the 400m, capturing a Commonwealth bronze medal in Birmingham in 2022.

Williams also contributed to Britain’s 4x400m relay success, earning her first global medal at the 2023 World Championships in Paris, where she competed in the heats before the team finished second behind the United States and the Netherlands.
