Nuguse Breaks American 3000m Indoor Record (7:28.24)
Yared Nuguse, a former Notre Dame runner, made history in the men's 3,000m run at the Boston University Terrier Classic on Friday, clocking a record-breaking 7:28.24. The former Notre Dame runner smashed the previous American record of 7:30.16, held by Galen Rupp for a decade, and also beat Grant Fisher's outdoor mark of 7:28.48. Nuguse dominated the race, finishing more than three seconds ahead of the competition and pulling five other runners under the 7:40 m. Nuguse covered the final mile in 3:56.96.
Malaika Mihambo and Ewa Swoboda produce the highlights in Düsseldorf
Germany’s Olympic long jump champion Malaika Mihambo and Poland’s sprinter Ewa Swoboda produced the highlights at the ISTAF INDOOR Düsseldorf. Mihambo left it late before producing a fine 6.83 m jump while Swoboda was just ahead of crowd favorite Gina Lückenkemper in 7.18 seconds in the 60 m final in front of around 6,100 spectators in the PSD BANK DOME arena. Polish athletes had a great day in Düsseldorf, taking three of the six competitions.

Keely Hodgkinson Breaks the World Indoor 600m Record
Keely Hodgkinson, an Olympic 800m silver medallist, made history on Friday night by breaking the long-standing world record for 600m at the Bryggen Sports event in Manchester. This was the third British record to be broken in 24 hours, following Dina Asher-Smith and Sam Atkin's achievements. Hodgkinson clocked 1:23.41, beating the previous record of 1:23.44 set by Olga Kotlyarova of Russia in 2004. She was accompanied by pacemaker Issy Boffey, who had earlier won the women's 800m.
