Peter Bol and Joseph Deng are back to their 2018 best after stellar runs in the men’s 800m at the 2020 Sydney Track Classic. Peter Bol won the race in 1:45.85 with Joseph just behind him in second with 1:45.89. After the race, Bol declared him and Joseph were set for bigger things in the Olympic year.

Joshua Cheptegei (UGA) has set a new world record on the 5km this morning in Monaco. Cheptegei finished the Monaco Run 5km in a time of 12 minutes and 51 seconds and by doing so took an impressive 27 seconds of the previous world record set by Rhonex Kipruto (KEN) which stood at 13:18.
Running for Wake Forest, the talented and gritty Aussie, Zach Facioni, has broken the school indoor 3000m record, clocking 7:55.92 to take out the win at the Iowa State Classic. It is just one of a string of awesome performances that Facioni has run recently, cementing himself as a serious player on the NCAA scene, and justifying his move from Sydney to the American collegiate system.

Two Olympic qualifiers from Eleanor Patterson and Nicola McDermott in the women’s high jump have lead the charge at the 2020 Canberra Track Classic. Although both Patterson and McDermott had already jumped the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifying height (1.96m), McDermott in June 2019 in Ostrava and Patterson in January 2020 in Canberra, they both again cleared 1.96m at the meet.
