Stewart McSweyn and Jessica Hull have both secured automatic nominations to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics at the Melbourne Track Classic.
Mo Farah has withdrawn from The Vitality Big Half 2020 due to a minor Achilles injury sustained in training. Farah has won the event on the past two occasions and had been looking forward to racing another distance running great, Kenenisa Bekele (ETH), at this year’s race on Sunday 1 March.
The Takayna Ultra is a 65km (and 22km) ultra-marathon event set-up top help save the Tarkine from logging, mining and off-road vehicle damage. Jessica Hull has unofficially broken the Australian Indoor 1500m record at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, running 4:04.14 to take out the race. Meanwhile, in New York, the 2019 Australian 5000m champion, Jordan Gusman, has qualified for the world indoor titles. Gusman, from the elite squad, Tinman Elite, clocked 7:49 at the Dr Sanders Invitational in New York City, just inside the world championship qualifier (7:50).
