Brett Robinson has broken the Australian half marathon record at the Marugame Half Marathon clocking 59:57. ⁣The record has stood since 1968, when Darren Wilson clocked 1:00.02 in Tokyo, Japan.  The performance pushes Michael Shelley, the two time Commonwealth Games Marathon champion out of the top-10, he now sits in 11th.
British Olympic hero Sir Mo Farah will begin his journey towards this year’s Tokyo Games by racing another of the all-time distance running greats, Kenenisa Bekele, at the 2020 Vitality Big Half on Sunday 1 March.
Coming off the second fastest marathon of all time during the BMW Berlin Marathon this fall, Kenenisa Bekele has set a new goal for himself and will join the world’s fastest men in the streets of London. Kenenisa will join teammates Eliud Kipchoge and Mule Wasihun, who finished 3rd during last year’s race.

Eliud Kipchoge proved No Human Is Limited when he became the first human in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon in the city of Vienna, Austria this morning. Kipchoge ran the 42.195KM distance in a remarkable time of 1:59:40:2. The 34-year-old Kenyan’s landmark achievement began at 8:15AM CEST on the Reichsbrucke Bridge in Vienna in perfect weather conditions of around 9 degrees celcius and wind speeds between 0.5 - 1.5 m/s.
Nike has shut down the Nike Oregon Project distance group on Thursday, October 10 2019. The Project was establihsed by Nike in 2001 to support long and middle distance running in America. Nike's co-founder, Phil Knight, always took a keen interest in the Project and was instrumental in its ongoing funding.
