The 2022 takayna Trail  is scheduled for 26th February and entries will sell fast, registrations are limited to just 150 starters.  The race exits to raise money to save the takayna rainforest.
The 10th edition of the Surf Coast Century is cementing its’ reputation as one of Australia's must-do ultra trail marathons, attracting a number of past winners from ultra running events across the country.
Jim Walmsley has been batting an ITB injury lately, and admits that his preparation has been far from perfect. But it'll take more than a niggle to stop Walmsley, the American has won his third Western States 100, in as many attempts (in 2020 the event was cancelled).
SURF COAST CENTURY
Rapid Ascent is excited to begin the 100-day countdown to the 2021 Surf Coast Century, an incredible 100km ultra marathon to be held on the Surf Coast on the 11th of September. The milestone of the 10th edition was marked with a gathering of 10 local runners including Surf Coast Shire Councillor Kate Gazzard, on the final leg of the race course at Point Roadknight in Anglesea, Victoria.
In 2020, I had the pleasure of racing the takayna Ultra, well I only did the 21km event- but I'll claim it. takayna (Tarkine) is situated in Tasmania's north-west corner, and it is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. It's up there with America's Yosemite, the Great Barrier Reef, or Brazil's Amazon. But few Australians have heard of it, and our politicians are quickly trying to destroy it.
A capacity field of 1,500 participants have etched their names in the history books having completed the fourth annual Margaret River Ultra Marathon on Saturday 1 May, 2021 along the Cape to Cape coastline in south west, Western Australia. In an event that only one week prior was on the verge of postponement due to the recent COVID-19 WA lockdown, the finish-line moments were made even more memorable as participants turned pain into gains amongst an electrifying race atmosphere.
The Margaret River Ultra Marathon is going ahead as planned this Saturday 1 May 2021 in south-west, Western Australia, after the WA Government announced an end to the snap-lockdown at midnight Monday 26 April. Organisers Rapid Ascent will put relevant amendments in place to ensure the event follows current COVID-19 restrictions.

The Run Larapinta Stage Race gets underway this Wednesday in the four-day, four-stage event which will see participants take in some of the most spectacular sections of the iconic Larapinta Trail in Australia's Northern Territory. Held from Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 April, this is the rescheduled 2020 event after it was postponed due to COVID-19 last year.
