Jack Rayner has broken Craig Mottram's Australian 10,000m road record at the Burnie 10 over the weekend. Rayner clocked 27:43 to shave 11 seconds off Mottram's old record of 27:54.

Eliud Kipchoge crowned the 48th edition of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON in breaking the world record with his time of 2:01:09. The 37-year-old improved his own world best time by exactly half a minute. He was even on course for a while to achieve the dream of running under two hours but couldn’t maintain this splendid pace. The Kenyan added further lustre to Berlin’s already rich honour board since this was the 12th world record in the marathon’s history, a total unmatched by any other marathon race in the world.
The American marathon star Keira D’Amato heads the women’s elite field for this Sunday’s BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. The 37-year-old national record holder is the fastest woman in the field with her time of 2:19:12 and the only one to have broken the landmark barrier of 2:20. Organisers of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON have registered 45,527 runners from 157 nations for the 48th edition of the event. Germany’s most spectacular road race is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors (AWMM) and is also a Platinum Label Road Race of the international athletics federation, World Athletics.

For the first time in over 20 years, the GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON on October 9 will take place with an international elite field. The start list includes a World champion from 2015, Mare Dibaba of Ethiopia. Her compatriot Mengistu Zelalem is currently the fastest man in the field with a best of 2:08:48. The GENERALI MUNICH MARATHON, which starts in the Olympic Stadium before making its way through the inner city and finishing in the imposing setting of the Olympic arena, is an Elite Label Road Race, a distinction awarded by World Athletics, the international governing body of world athletics. The organisers expect a total of 20,000 participants for the 36th edition of this historic race with around 5,000 running the marathon.

The American record holder Keira d’Amato and Kenya’s Nancy Jelagat Meto lead a high quality women’s field for the 48th edition of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON on Sunday, September 25. Keira d’Amato improved the US record to 2:19:12 which also gives her the accolade of the fastest in the women’s field, announced by the organisers today. Eight women will be on the start line with personal bests of under 2:21.
