The cream of Australia’s distance running crop are primed to take on the rugged Bathurst terrain next month, with Athletics Australia finalising its 28-strong team for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 2023, taking place from February 17-19.
Just 35 days remains before Australia’s first World Athletics Series event in 27 years begins in Bathurst with the World Athletics Cross Country Championships, but before then, the country’s top distance stars will battle it out for selection at the Australian Trials this Sunday at Canberra’s Stromlo Forest.

MELBOURNE, September 11, 2020 - Athletics Australia has today confirmed that eight National Championship events that were due to be held in 2020 have been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions and to ensure the health and wellbeing of athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials and staff.

Nike has shut down the Nike Oregon Project distance group on Thursday, October 10 2019. The Project was establihsed by Nike in 2001 to support long and middle distance running in America. Nike's co-founder, Phil Knight, always took a keen interest in the Project and was instrumental in its ongoing funding.
