Yared Nuguse, a former Notre Dame runner, made history in the men's 3,000m run at the Boston University Terrier Classic on Friday, clocking a record-breaking 7:28.24. The former Notre Dame runner smashed the previous American record of 7:30.16, held by Galen Rupp for a decade, and also beat Grant Fisher's outdoor mark of 7:28.48. Nuguse dominated the race, finishing more than three seconds ahead of the competition and pulling five other runners under the 7:40 m. Nuguse covered the final mile in 3:56.96.

Australian teenager Cameron Myers has joined an exclusive club of runners to break the four-minute mile, becoming the second-youngest person to achieve the feat after Norwegian superstar Jakob Ingebrigtsen. Myers, aged just 16 years and 259 days, clocked an impressive time of three minutes 55.44 seconds at the Maurie Plant Classic in Melbourne on Thursday, finishing third behind Australia's Commonwealth Games 1500m champion Olli Hoare.

Norwegian athlete Jakob Ingebrigtsen has emerged victorious in the 1500m race at the European Indoor Athletics Championships, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey. His finishing time of 3 minutes 33.95 seconds secured him the gold medal, setting a new championship record. Neil Gourley, the in-form British athlete, finished in second place with a time of 3:34.23, while Azeddine Habz of France claimed the bronze medal, completing the race in 3:35.39.
Australian 800m runner has vowed to push on and compete for gold at the Paris Olympics despite what he says is permanent damage to his reputation caused by a positive test for performance-enhancing drug EPO. Bol, who holds the national record for the event, insists he is innocent, and his ban from training and competition was lifted last month after an “atypical finding” in his B sample. The case is still being investigated by Sport Integrity Australia (SIA), and if cleared, Bol plans to compete in Europe to qualify for the world championships in Budapest in August and next year’s Paris Olympics.
