Hall and McSweyn Attack in Lausanne: Diamond League Recap

An amazing aggressive piece of front running by Linden Hall at the Lausanne Diamond League.  Hall has continued to position herself at the pointy end of global 1500m running, finishing 2nd . Hall showed her confidence and strength,going with the pace maker and gapping the rest of the field by a clear 20 metres.  She was only passed on the home straight by Ethiopia's Freweyni Gebreezibeher, who was 4th at the Tokyo Olympics.

McSweyn 3:48.40 at Pre Classic as Ingebrigtsen Confirms Dominance

It was a race of two at the 2021 Prefontaine Classic Bowerman Mile, as  Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Stewart McSweyn clashed. Ingebrigtsen was victorious, posting a big PB. The Norwegian stopped the clock at 3:47.24 to set a new meet record.  Australian Stewart McSweyn was still with the Olympic champion with just 200m to go, as the pair put a substantial gap on the rest of the field. Stew finished 2nd in 3:48.40, just 0.03 off his PB and Australian record. Stew's time is the second fastest in Australian history, a great run.

Makhloufi is Out as McSweyn, Hoare & Edwards Eye Medals

Former Olympic gold medallist Taoufik Makhloufi has pulled out of the Tokyo Games due to a knee injury. The 33-year-old was a medal hope in Japan after winning 800m and 1500m silvers at the 2016 Rio Olympics and 1500m silver at the 2019 Doha world championships. He is the 2012 1500m Olympic champion.

Katir & McSweyn Battle in Gateshead: Müller British Grand Prix Recap

Mohamed Katir and Stewart McSweyn have had another awesome battle at the 2021 Muller British Grand Prix.  Just days ago Katir just beat McSweyn over 1500m in Monaco, now he has won again in England. The fast finishing Spaniard is in the process of re-writing the Spanish record books. In Monaco his 3:28.76 broke Fermin Cacho's 1500m record. Cacho won the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, with similar finishing kicks, it wouldn't shock to see history repeat. Katir's winning time in Gatehead of 7:27.64 is a meet record and takes him to number 15 on the all-time rankings list.

McSweyn Breaks 3:30, But Cheruiyot Still the King in Monaco

Stewart McSweyn has made history by becoming the first Australian to break the 3:30 barrier for the 1500m at the Monaco Diamond League. He has done what huge names such as Ryan Gregson, Simon Doyle and Craig Mottram could not, break 3:30 for 1500m. McSweyn clocked 3:29.51 to smash his own PB by a second and break Nick Willis's Oceania record (3:29.66)
