Receiving a hero's welcome upon his return to Kenya, the 23-year-old marathon sensation, Kelvin Kiptum, celebrates his remarkable world record-breaking performance at the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Kiptum, who completed the marathon in a groundbreaking two hours and 25 seconds, now aspires to represent Kenya at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
The American record holder Keira d’Amato and Kenya’s Nancy Jelagat Meto lead a high quality women’s field for the 48th edition of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON on Sunday, September 25. Keira d’Amato improved the US record to 2:19:12 which also gives her the accolade of the fastest in the women’s field, announced by the organisers today. Eight women will be on the start line with personal bests of under 2:21.

This event featured a unique mixed-sex pursuit format, with professional women kicking off the race 30 seconds ahead of the men on the Waikiki course, resulting in combined prize money rankings.
Jack Rayner has broken Craig Mottram's Australian 10,000m road record at the Burnie 10 over the weekend.  Rayner clocked 27:43 to shave 11 seconds off Mottram's old record of 27:54.
Riga, Latvia; 1 October 2023 - The inaugural World Athletics Road Running Championships have been run and won, as a trio of Australia’s track stars including Jessica Hull, Morgan McDonald and Jack Anstey showcased their versatility tonight with top-10 finishes on the roads of Riga, Latvia.
Defending champion and course record holder Bernard Koech will return for the 38th edition of the Haspa Marathon Hamburg on 28th April. The 36 year-old Kenyan, who improved the course best to 2:04:09 last year, will face very strong opponents in Germany’s major spring marathon. Samwel Mailu of Kenya and Ethiopia’s Abdisa Tola, who both produced breakthrough performances in 2023, will challenge the defending champion. In Martin Musau there will be another former winner of the Haspa Marathon Hamburg returning to the race: The Ugandan was the winner in 2021.

In Sunday's thrilling race, Kenya's Peres Jepchirchir, a seasoned favorite, once again displayed her remarkable talent by securing her third World Half Marathon title. Her previous triumphs in 2016 and 2020 had already cemented her reputation as a dominant force in the sport. Just three weeks ago, she delivered a stellar performance at the Great North Run, winning decisively with a lead of over a minute and a finishing time of 66:45.
The world of half marathon racing witnessed an emphatic display of Kenyan excellence at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Riga on Sunday.
