This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the inaugural world championships in Helsinki. Most of you know that. It is also the thirtieth anniversary of another very significant edition of the championships – Stuttgart 1993, the year the championships went biennial; the year our sport went as close as I fear it will ever get to the nirvana of an annual global championships.

The Australian 800m record holder, Peter Bol, has announced his return to form clocking a 1:44.29 over 800m in Barcelona. Bol finished second and along the way collected an Olympic and World Championship qualifer.

The running and hiking route is right on Perth’s doorstep, yet not many have explored this region...
By Brett Davies With his recent world 2-mile record (7.54.10) in Paris, Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen proved beyond all doubt that, at just 22, he is already in a select group of the greatest middle-distance runners in history. To experience, exceptional performance in running, choose the best footwear for your runs...
The week just past brought the 58th anniversary of perhaps the greatest of Ron Clarke’s 17, 18 or 19 (depending how you count, but a lot whichever way you do) world records.
